URGENT SAFETY MESSAGE
SAFETY IS OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY AND SERVICE IS OUR ONLY BUSINESS.
ALL OPERATORS ARE REMINDED TO OBSERVE ALL SAFETY AND TRAFFIC LAWS, AND TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AT ALL RED LIGHTS, STOP SIGNS, DOUBLE XX, AND ALL POINT ON SWITCHES.
ALWAYS CHECK YOUR MIRRORS AND ALWAYS LOOK LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT BEFORE PROCEEDING IN MOTION. CHECK ALL BLIND SPOTS TO ENSURE THAT IT IS CLEAR.
THIS RULE IS CONTAINED IN YOUR RULE BOOK AND IN GENERAL BULLETINS.
Please do not wear ear pieces or talk on cell phones during transit operation. Use of a cell phone while operating a transit vehicle is a very serious violation. Be aware that SFMTA is stepping up their safety focus regarding use of cell phones while operating transit vehicles.
Q: What does this mean to our members?
A: SFMTA Management including, Supervisors in training and Street Supervisors will be issuing violations to Members who do not adhere to cell phone laws, rules and regulations. A citation issued from a Law Enforcement Officer may affect your Driver’s License.
SFMTA is stepping up enforcement regarding running red lights.
Q: What does this mean to our members?
A: SFMTA Management including, Supervisors in training and Street Supervisors will be issuing violations to Members who run red lights. Please stop for red lights. Make complete stops. Do not enter a stale green light or yellow light.
WHEEL BLOCKS
Make sure you have a wheel block on your vehicle when you pull-out in the morning. When leaving your vehicle, make sure you set the parking brake, curb your wheel. If you are operating a motor coach, put the engine in neutral, and then shut off the engine.
As you leave your coach, always put your wheel block at the rear end of the coach. Always – prevent roll-a-ways by following all safety rules and tips.
